International Conference on Agroecology and Sustainable Value Chains in Hohenheim
From June 9–11, 2026, an international conference was held at Hohenheim Castle.
As part of the conference "Agroecology, Climate Resilience, and Indigenous and Underutilised Crops: Rethinking Value Chains for Sustainable Futures" students, researchers, and practitioners had the opportunity to exchange ideas and network.
In addition to various presentations and poster sessions, excursions were organized through the Hohenheim Gardens and to the Beuren Open Air Museum. Mr. Sebastian Hess from Department of Agricultural Markets contributed to the program with his presentation “Market Challenges for Niche Products.” Representing our department, Ms. Christine Wieck guided attendees through the event and, at the end, presented the prizes to the winners of the poster competition.
The conference was also supported by the Center for Organic Farming and the African German Centre for Sustainable and Resilient Food Systems and Applied Agricultural and Food Data Science (UKUDLA).
